About us

This is a Homeopathic Medical institution which has been set up to provide training in homeopathic medicine at various levels to Ghanaians. It therefore provides a homeopathic medical training to persons who are desirous of engaging in health care in the country, but are either unable to access the mainstream medical schools or are not interested in allopathic medicine. Again, the college is also projecting to provide a top-up training for various personnel who already have had training at any level in allopathic medicine, in homeopathic medicine, to give such personnel the opportunity to branch into this exciting realm of homeopathy or to enable them add homeopathy to their practice. This latter function will serve the purpose of providing variety in their practice and also to help curb the ever-growing problem of unemployment among qualified health personnel, especially nurses. The College also provides an additional establishment to complement existing ones for the training of personnel in homeopathic medicine. The mission of the C4C Homeopathic Medical College is therefore to provide the facility for the training of health care personnel who will be engaged in homeopathic medical practice. The vision of the college is to produce homeopathic health care personnel whose academic and professional competence will be par excellence, and thus to enable our products to contribute significantly and meaningfully to homeopathic health care delivery in the country. Employment opportunities for all categories of graduates from the College abound in the many C4C Hospitals present virtually in every region of the country, as practitioners in Homeopathic Medicine, at various levels. Additionally, products of the College may also opt to work in any of the other Homeopathic Hospitals or Clinics in the country as properly qualified Homeopathic Medical personnel. Again, our products should have the ability to start their own practice, since their training incorporates a component of entrepreneurship.

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote, propagate and advance the science of Homeopathy.
  2. To advance the scientific study and professional practice of homeopathy and to enhance the contribution of homeopathic treatments by encouraging its development by promoting research and setting high standards of professional ethics, competence, conduct, education, qualification and achievement amongst practitioners promoting the dissemination of knowledge and thought about homeopathic medicines through training, educational courses, refresher courses, meetings, lectures, seminars, workshops, reports, papers, discussions, excursions, debates, exhibitions, camps, publications, professional contacts etc. with wide interest and inquiry into homeopathic medicines and all related areas of knowledge and practice.
  3. To maintain the honor and dignity and to uphold and safeguard the interests of homeopathic systems of medicine and other allied subjects.
  4. To improve public health in accordance with the principles of homeopathic systems of medicine.
  5. To undertake publications relating to homeopathic medicines.
  6. To establish, organize, finance and maintain dispensaries, hospitals, research institutes etc. of alternative systems of medicine.
  7. to engage, assist or undertake various social service activities such as sanitation, public health, establishment of libraries, social welfare activities, family welfare, relief to the affected in times of flood, famine, pestilence and other calamities caused by nature and man.
  8. To, establish, organize, finance and maintain manufacturing laboratories of medicines working on the basis of the pharmacopoeias of homeopathic medicines keeping in view their efficacies.
  9. To do such other lawful things which are conducive to the attainment of the above objects.

ACADEMIC SCOPE OF THE COLLEGE

C4C Homeopathic College is engaged in the training of SHS graduates and healthcare graduates in the program below. a. Three-year program leading to the award of the Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine. Our curriculum is a blend of those of the Bhagwan Homoeopathic Medical College - India, Parul University-India, NVTI Healthcare syllabus –Ghana, and C4C Homeopathic Medical College Faculty’s own research into homeopathy. Local content has been infused into the curriculum as a means of making the material relevant to our setting in Ghana. As such, the course in “Health Care” has the curriculum from the NVTI, Ghana. Again, local examples and experiences will be used as much as possible during presentations, while not compromising on the attraction of providing an international touch to our programs. There will also be the opportunity for candidates with basic nursing education, allopathic medical education and diploma and degree holders in relevant fields in science, to be admitted to the program at various levels, depending on their qualifications. The courses above will be taken at the Homeopathic Medical College in Cape Coast, on full time basis with lectures and practical’s running from Mondays to Fridays. The programs will be on a three month (12 weeks) per semester basis with an examination at the end of each semester. There will be a four-week inter semester break while the break after each year will be for a minimum of twelve weeks, eight weeks of which will be used as an attachment period, served in any of the C4C Hospitals. Progression to the next level will depend on a student meeting a prescribed minimum CGPA from the examinations taken at the preceding level. A student will qualify for the award of a Diploma after going through 93 credits of coursework and practical’s over the three year period of study.

  8. DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE HOLDERS
  9. Applicants with Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (24 months to complete)
  10. Applicants with Certificate in Complementary Healthcare (18months year to complete)
  • Applicants with Certificate in Health Assistant Clinical (24months for completion)
  1. NVTI Certificate 1 in healthcare – 30 months for completion
  2. NVTI Certificate 2 in healthcare – 24 months for completion
  3. DEGREE HOLDERS (1 YEAR)
  4. Bachelor’s Degree in related programmes (e.g Biochemistry, Human Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture Science, Alternative Medicine, Herbal Medicine, or any science related program.
